Dear Wes,

I hope you will forgive me if this letter is short and sweet, because I am
completely "bushed" right now.  I am washing the dining room walls, windows and
woodwork.  I have been working on it since 8:00 o’clock, and have still one and
a half walls left to wash.  Of course the window frames etc. are what take so
much time.  I also am washing curtains again.  They’re so dirty and I washed
them all in February.  Don’t know if I’ll tackle the ceilings or not but they
do

look dirty.  I’m using Soilex and it sure takes the dirt off.  Wish I’d used it
when I washed the kitchen walls and ceiling.  Besides this I’ve been cleaning
house all day, as I wasn’t here to do it last Saturday.  I just took a bath and
am all set for bed after I finish this letter.  Wish I could get the window
shades cleaned somewhere.

Ronnie sure was full of pep today.  Guess the trip didn’t get him down.

By the way, are the ceilings painted in the living room and dining room, or are
they calcimine?  Let me know, as

calcimine doesn’t wash, and someone suggested that they might be calcimine
instead of painted.

If I keep on with this house-cleaning business I’m afraid I will be awfully
tired when I get to Florida.

I bought some shades for our bedroom vanity lamps yesterday.  They’re
rose-color.  [They] Look pretty nice.

Murray told Elinor and the fellows that he’s going to work on the farm.  Wonder
if he’s kidding?  Guess he figured he’ll

be ineligible for the draft then, Or maybe he figures the outdoors will do his
lungs good.  He may also be afraid of being drafted to war work, as they’re
talking of a labor draft for F-4s and then he’d have to stay at Pullman.

If you can’t use those house slippers I sent you, send them back, or sell them
to someone.  I paid $1.85 for them and can get a refund if necessary.

How was the Angel-food [cake]?  Good I hope!
Well good night and Sweet dreams and tell the boys I’m glad they liked the cake.

Ronnie had a new Easter outfit - I didn’t.  All I had was new shoes.  Poor me.

You forgot to put Norma’s and Anna Perkin’s letter in, altho you said you were
enclosing them.  Who has a poor memory now?
