My darling,

I’m trying to make up for last night by writing now and tonight too.  I read a
nice letter from my honey today dated Feb 3, telling me you’d finally rec’d
two more boxes, but it’s hard to believe that the cookies were edible.  You
must be kidding, as you mentioned, they were mailed in Sept.  Tell me for sure
if the things are O.K., as there’s no use in my sending things to eat if they
don’t get there in good shape.

Yesterday Jim and Martha picked Ronnie and me up and we all went over to Holme’s
to have another birthday party for Ronnie and Tommy.  We got there at 3:00 and
left at 9:00 P.M.  For supper we had individual meat loaves, potato salad,
jello <? pine>, apple salad, olives, celery, birthday cake and coffee.  All
very good and Ronnie got a knit shirt from the Tostis which was very nice.

This makes 4 suits, plus 3 extra shirts, that he got for his birthday.  Claude
and Joe also sent him a toy dog, and (me a pair of silk pajamas).  I wish they
hadn’t, it makes me feel as though they felt they had to give me something
because we gave their children gifts at Christmas.
