Dear Ronnie
The time for lights out so will end this <? continued> affair by writing you a little short letter.
You know, my dear boy, that your daddy has never really written you a letter, have I? This is so you can put in your pocket and keep all to yourself.
How are you and Bobby getting along these days? And are you always a real good boy when you play with him? You tell Bobby that your daddy in France, says hello, and I hope he and his mother and daddy are all well. Now you be a real good boy and run over and give mommy a big hug and kiss for me. And some of these days Daddy will be coming home to play ball with you.
Your own Daddy
