Noteworthy: letter to Dad from a fellow soldier

Dear Wes,

I received your letter of March 17th today and was sure glad to hear from
you.  I wrote to you about a week ago, but I used an old address so that
this letter may reach you before that one.  I was certainly sorry to hear
that you were wounded and hope it was not serious.  How are you feeling now?
I have been very fortunate all the while I have been in the Army, and my
present location is all that I could hope for in the ETO.  I am in the
X-ray department of our hospital and sleep on the third floor with nine
other X-ray technicians.  We have a wonderful setup as far as our work is
concerned, and I hope you can either come here or I can get to Paris before
you leave.  I get a day off every ten or eleven days, but I think I would
need a couple of days to visit Paris.  That way the transportation is over
here.  I suppose you have ridden the French Railroad and know what I mean.
I’ve had several rides myself.  If the sensor cuts the name of the town

out of my letter, you can find out where I am by my APO number through
the Red Cross.  I am off next Thursday as if by any chance I can get a
ride in one of our trucks.  I’ll look you up or leave word at the Red Cross.
