Mrs. My Darling,

How’s that for a change.  A change is all it is because I don’t feel any better
or any worse.  A little tired perhaps but otherwise all right.  Went on to a
town about 15 miles away today to Co. Hq’s to see something about my status
here.  Learned a few things but nothing new yet although may find out something
in the next few days.  Had a little trouble getting transportation back and had
to walk part of the way.  Well I’m seeing France in many different ways.

Sgt. Sweeney, my boss, says to tell you hello.  He is quite a boy.  More about
him later someday.

You might send me some Vicks salve, my powders and something else but can’t
think of it now.  It seems the powers you sent first class mail reaches me
pretty well.  Other packages don’t get here at all hardly.  It’s like summer
here now.  Every thing getting green.  All the farmers working their fields and
it was pretty nice being out in the air for a change as I didn’t mind the walk.
