Hello, honey,
Received your nice presents and letter today. The compact is darling, and thanks so much. I know it must have cost you a pretty penny, besides your time spent shopping around. Ronnie said to say thank you to Daddy for him. He worked with the jigsaw puzzle all morning and with a little help from me he learned to assemble them perfectly. He assembled them, name[d] the animals, then said, "Now we mix ’em up, Mommie," and then start all over again. Did I tell you that he can button his pajamas all by himself, now, even Bobby can’t do that yet? Isn’t our son brilliant?
We had nice weather this morning, 60 degrees, and sunshine, too. Ronnie was out all morning with Judy and Tippi (the pup). This afternoon it rained and turned cool. I could have killed Judy today. She chewed the thumb off my black suede gloves (the pair I wore for our wedding that cost $8.20). Blame me? The only thing that saved her is that Mrs. Dixon was here. I’m writing an airmail letter tonight, also, o we’ll continue then.
Good night Sweet heart, love, Mom and Ronnie
