page 2. Dearest Alice and Ronnie,
There isn’t anything to do tonight. The show on is the same as last night. I saw it, but had seen it before, Ginger Rogers in "Lady in the Dark". They had about a third of it cut out. Could have gone into the city, but know all the GIs in the country would be there, so passed that up. May go in tomorrow though. I’m in the camp library right now writing these letters. It’s the first army library I’ve seen and isn’t bad. We live in tents here -- eight men to a tent. We have a stove so manage to stay warm. Believe it or not but there is no reveille here so usually can sleep until 9 a.m. This can’t be the army, can it? We do have retreat though, which is almost as bad. Chow is not like hospital food, but it is edible. Still don’t know how long I’ll be here, but expect to move any day. How’s my little Ronnie tonight?
I guess he knows he will soon be three years old. Love to you both, Daddy.
