Dear Alice and Ronnie,

Aanother very beautiful day and another week spent in this camp.  But I am
getting kind of used to it here now, gotten to know some of the fellows and it
really could be a fairly nice place.  Suppose that means it’s about time for me
to be moved on.  Sometimes I wonder if I will ever stay in one place in this
army long enough to really get acquainted.  It would <? nat> me if <? I> didn’t
if they would just send me home.  It’s really summer here now.  We wear no coat
or jacket and no hat when we think we can get away with it.  Have another
chance to go to Paris tomorrow.  Since I now have a little money on hand plan
to buy you both something for Easter.  However since tomorrow is Sunday [I]
suppose everything will be closed tight.  But maybe you would prefer that I
send you the money instead - or both.  <? For> that may be possible.  Our
barracks here is cleaned out again tonite is so Sweeney and I have the place to
ourselves.  Some relief.  Last nite we had over two hundred men see <? ...> next
