Dear Alice and Ronnie,
Here it is Wednesday and still no further towards where I am going than I was
this time Sunday evening. The army certainly can be very slow at times. Have
been spending the last three days loafing, mostly. Now if I were home loafing
would be very nice but you can’t imagine how monotonous it gets here. There is
nothing to do in the daytime because the day room and Red Cross, etc. is [are]
closed. Then at nite they are always so crowded that one gets no enjoyment
going there. Why they [are] ever called the day by that name is beyond me.
I’ve never yet seen one open to soldiers during the day.
So until I get to wher ever I’m going, there isn’t any news, no mail and
nothing to write about. It just came from watching a ball game. I’ve played
myself the other day and have been so stiff ever since can hardly walk, will
<? have to> write more some other day.
Love to you both.
Daddy
