Postcard from: G.W. Shonkwiler to: Mrs. Alice Shonkwiler Birmingham, England, Feb. 21, 1945. Noteworthy: Dad spens pass in Birmingham
Dearest Alice
Am spending two days pass in this city before taking off for rejoin know where. If things work out, I am suppose to be in for a pretty good rest. Right now I am fighting a terrible cold. Hope it doesn’t throw a monkey wrench in the works. This is a pretty nice city. Plenty to do if I weren’t so under my cold and someone else holds
me down though. Have seen a couple of good movies and did a little shopping though everything is rationed couldn’t buy much.
Love Daddy
