Card from: Alice Shonkwiler to: PFC George W. Shonkwiler July 6th, 1945 Friday
(Top page, picture of chickens, rooster, hen, lots of chicks)
Honey, you ain’t cheating on me. Greetings from Freeman Lake, Monticello, Indiana.
(Back page) Hello, honey. How are you and are you out of the hospital? We, (Jo and I and the kids) went swimming this morning. After lunch we all went golfing with Claude. I’ll bet he loved that. Tonite we went into town for hamburgers and came back and put the kids to bed and read for a while.
Uncle Claude is Ronnie’s favorite here and he won’t let anyone else near him. I’ve still not had a letter from you.
Love, Mom and Ronnie
