Dearest Alice and Ronnie:

A very dull day but no different than the rest and now that I have caught up a
little on my rest, they have begun to <? arago> but not too much yet.  They
took a whole bunch of new <? ..age> of my head today and more blood for blood
counts, blood tests, etc.  But that’s as much as I can tell you because that’s
all I know myself.

Saw a very good show this morning, Barbara Stanwyck in "Connecticut Christmas"
["Christmas in Connecticut."], finished reading a book and that’s been about
it.  Right now everyone is in bed but me and I should be with that <? gbarnton>
head ache I have.  It aches the same in bed so that’s rather useless too it
seems.

I have some time since I have written you a v-mail.  But no mail again today
so there isn’t much to write about.  I don’t ever get much gossip here in a
hospital.  I played a fair game of shuffle board yesterday.  And today have
been so sore can hardly move.  Guess that poves to you how really soft I am.
Looks like I’ll have to take a basic training class to prepare myself for the
rugged life of a <? soldier> should I see I’m going to get out maybe someday.
