Darling,

Today has been a cold, stormy, rainy day.  I went shopping for meat and
groceries about 11:00 a.m., as Marge was coming over tonight for dinner and
to sew.  I actually was able to get two pcs. pork steak and a 1 1/2 of beef
steak (for Sunday).  I was overwhelmed at my good fortune!  Elsie (of Beloit)
is coming Sunday, so I’ll save the beef for that event.  Ronnie and I got
soaked running from People’s store to our car.  And after stopping at the
A&P store on 111th, I couldn’t start the car again.  After a 1 1/2 hour wait
a policeman saw to it that I got a push and I got home by 3:00 p.m.  Then a
mad rush getting a late lunch for Ronnie and myself and put him to bed and
started on dinner for Marge.  Marge brought a quart of strawberries and cream
and a package of frozen broccoli so she more than paid for her share of her
dinner.  All in all we had breaded pork steak, boiled new potatoes, buttered
carrots and broccoli, peach in lemon gelatine salad, and strawberry short
cake and coffee.  Murray came from Smith’s at 7:45 and after Marge sewing on
a skirt and I made a hat to go with my brown and white suit we ate doughnuts
short cake and coffee.  They left at 10:30 and I finished my hat.  Will now go
to bed.
