Dear Alice and Ronnie:

Not much news today and no mail.  So it’s been a little dull around here as far
as I’m concerned.  Of course each new rumor always stirs up a little interest
but it’s getting so now good rumors don’t hold <? our> interest over five or
ten minutes.  Guess this is the way it’s going to be now until the war is
actually over and we are on our way home.  So far most of the rumors are very
encouraging so far as myself personally is concerned but I’m taking them for
what they are and not counting too big on anything.  However, I’ve never really
gotten a break yet in the army maybe I’ll get one before I get out.  Letting me
out soon will be the biggest break I could ask for.

The weather still is cold with quite a bit of rain making things a little
miserable after all that nice weather we had last month.  Didn’t even go out to
a show or anything tonite.  Feel like I may have a cold coming on so think I’ll
retire early for a change.  Even though we don’t get up until around 7 A.M.  I
am over <? snay >  to get enough sleep.  Getting old I guess.  How’s my little
Ronnie tonite?  <? ...> love to you both.
